Uluwatu

Uluwatu is a temple compound perched dramatically atop a limestone cliff on Bali's southern peninsula. Elevated high to take in sweeping views of the Indian Ocean, this site of spiritual reverence dates back to the 16th century and is guarded by a clan of sacred monkeys. It is a popular spot for visitors to watch the sunset and Hindu worshippers come to the temple regularly for times of prayer and personal contemplation.

The surrounding village of Uluwatu offers the ultimate hideaway with a fine collection of private villas for those choosing to escape the tourist crowds. There is also several world class surf breaks located within the immediate vicinity.
